John & Jane Are Married
After seven years together, John & Jane are married — surrounded by the people who matter most, formally at a rooftop terrace above the Manila skyline.
By the Setnayan Desk · Manila
On a clear weeknight evening, John and Jane were married on a Makati rooftop with the whole city laid out behind them. Sixty guests took their seats as the skyline switched on, tower by tower, and the ceremony began precisely on the hour.
It was, by every account, a study in restraint and good timing — short readings, a steady exchange of vows, and a dinner that moved at exactly the pace it was meant to. The supper club plated each course as the light over the bay deepened from gold to a settled blue.
There were three toasts, one slow dance, and a final round of coffee taken at the rail — the couple and their guests looking out over a city that, for one night, seemed arranged entirely for them.
“Thank you for choosing a weeknight rooftop over a long weekend away to be with us.”
