The venue sets the tone, the guest count, and a big slice of the budget for your whole wedding — so it is worth choosing deliberately. Here is how to narrow the field and what to confirm before you put down a deposit.
Start with two numbers
Your guest count and your venue budget filter out most options immediately. A space that comfortably seats your headcount with room for the program, buffet, and dance floor matters more than raw square metres — ask for the seated-dinner capacity, not the standing capacity.
Indoor, outdoor, or both
Outdoor venues — garden, beach, tented — are gorgeous, but the Philippines has a real rainy season (roughly June to November). If your date falls in it, insist on a solid wet-weather plan: a covered alternative on-site, not just "we will figure it out".
Questions to ask every venue
- What exactly is included — tables, chairs, sound, lighting, air-conditioning, generator backup?
- Is catering in-house, or can we bring our own (and is there corkage)?
- How many hours does the rate cover, and what is the overtime charge?
- Is there a clear wet-weather backup for outdoor setups?
- What are the parking, access, and call-time rules for suppliers?
