That is a same-day edit, or SDE, one of the most loved and most misunderstood add-ons in Filipino weddings. Here is how it actually works and whether it earns its price.

How it gets made in a single day

An SDE is a small feat of logistics, and once you understand how it is made the price makes a lot more sense. A dedicated editor sits in a back room, a hotel suite, or even a parked van for most of your wedding, receiving footage from the shooters in batches throughout the day. As you move from the morning preparations to the ceremony to the cocktail hour, that editor is already cutting, choosing music, syncing audio, and colour-grading — racing against the clock to finish a two-to-five-minute film before the reception programme reaches the moment it is meant to play. It is live editing under genuine deadline pressure, with no second chances, which is why it needs an experienced hand and not just any team member with a spare laptop.
